File4Free exists to ensure that individuals and families can file their taxes accurately, safely, and without cost. We focus on increasing access to tax credits and refunds that support financial stability and economic mobility.
We believe tax filing should not be a barrier to opportunity.
File4Free is operated Haven Services, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and delivered through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Our volunteers complete annual IRS training and certification requirements.
We serve communities across California through in-person and virtual tax preparation options.
Our services are funded through public programs and community partnerships, including federal and state tax-credit education and outreach initiatives. This funding allows us to provide tax preparation at no cost to eligible taxpayers.
We do not charge fees, accept tips, or sell add-on services.
